Co-creating Mobility Solutions in Stabroek
The residential neighbourhood next to the centre of Stabroek faces cut-through traffic during peak hours and excessive speeds outside of these periods. To develop widely supported interventions, the municipality first engaged in dialogue with local residents. Createlli supported the preparation, facilitation and reporting of this participation process.
During a dialogue evening, residents discussed seven traffic scenarios in small, mixed groups. This approach created space for everyone to share their perspective. The main insights were then shared and discussed in a plenary session.
To allow sufficient time for dialogue, the evening was divided into three time slots. Residents also had the opportunity to engage with the local government, municipal services, Police Zone North, the Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV) and the Mobility Committee.
The discussions showed that there is no simple solution. They highlighted the diverse interests and preferences of residents and provided valuable insights for the further development of the mobility plan.
