Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan – Trapagaran
In this project, we organised citizen participation as part of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for Trapagaran. The aim was to add a social perspective to the mobility plan, resulting in a diagnosis supported both technically and socially.
To make the content accessible, the plan was divided into four thematic blocks. These themes formed the basis for the communication materials and participatory methods. The four themes were:
-
Mobility and the environment (calls for more public transport to reduce air and noise pollution),
-
Urban space (limited accessibility and barriers for pedestrians),
-
Health (appreciation for active mobility), and
-
Inclusivity (attention to informal care and functional diversity).
Residents were invited to share their opinions on the current situation and suggest improvements for each theme. Using various methods, we reached a diverse audience, including children, retirees, municipal staff, and local associations. Although participation numbers were modest (204 participants), the process generated valuable input for the further development of the mobility plan.
