In the first week of July, we had the pleasure of being a challenge owner in the summer school Service Design for a Social City at the University of Antwerp.
Based on our experience in participation processes — often working with 2D maps, aerial photos or technical plans that aren’t always easy for residents to read, understand or imagine — we challenged the students to rethink how we visualize public space.
So we asked: How can a 3D experience contribute to more accessible and realistic participation in public space?
A team of five students with diverse backgrounds and nationalities took on the challenge — and came up with a 3D concept focused on non-Dutch-speaking participants.
It was a very inspiring collaboration — thank you to the students and Ivo De Wit for having us. Who knows… this idea might get a sequel!
