Geraardsbergen on Board: From site visits to exploratory talks – searching for the DNA of Geraardsbergen! 🔎🌊

Earlier, we went for a site visit to explore the Dender crossing in Geraardsbergen up close. Since then, we’ve taken the next step. Throughout March, we spoke with around thirty local residents – at schools, in a shop, at the tourist info point, at ‘t Steksken, online, and on the streets. We asked them about their experience of the Dender, their favourite spots, encounters, and what they feel could be improved. These conversations form the basis for a DNA analysis. How do people experience this part of the city today and what role could the river play as a connecting element?

One thing became clear during these listening sessions: the Dender has huge potential to strengthen the connection in Geraardsbergen.
