Ventilus
Department Omgeving has scheduled the public review of the GRUP Ventilus project following its provisional approval by the Flemish government just before the summer recess. Wind energy is Belgium’s leading source of renewable energy, and concrete plans are underway to expand capacity with a second concession zone for offshore wind in the Belgian North Sea. The Ventilus project will play a crucial role in transporting this additional electricity from the North Sea to consumers across the country. However, the proposed route for the new transmission lines has raised concerns and questions among residents in the affected areas. To address these concerns, Createlli was engaged to support the public consultation process by designing and implementing a comprehensive participation strategy, which includes:
- Providing guidance, support, and creation of communication materials, including regular follow-up newsletters;
- Assisting in the organization and execution of multiple information fairs to inform the public;
- Coordinating and participating in “sitting days” to capture feedback from residents and stakeholders.
Through these efforts, we aim to ensure an open and transparent dialogue, allowing residents to voice their concerns and contribute to shaping the project.
