The Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV) previously held consultations on the ambitions and goals for the redevelopment as part of the initial planning phase. One key challenge is the creation of a safe cycling route, which is locally sensitive due to required land expropriations, the loss of parking spaces, and the removal of trees. Createlli supported AWV in developing, organizing, and overseeing consultations with local residents and impacted stakeholders regarding the draft project plans.

In collaboration with the Agency for Roads and Traffic, the town of Waregem, the municipality of Kruisem, and the study group Irtas, we facilitated several information sessions and dialogue moments. These sessions provided a platform for meaningful discussions with affected property owners and the broader public about the design plans for the regional road.

Thanks to a transparent approach and open dialogue, a constructive atmosphere was fostered, leading to general appreciation from participants. The feedback gathered offered valuable insights, which the design team used to refine the plans, particularly concerning parking, speed regulations, and bicycle safety.
