Participation process Mobility Plan Tielt
The mobility policy of the city of Tielt was due for an update, prompting a comprehensive study from 2020 to 2023 to develop a new mobility plan. Tielt adopted an extensive participatory approach to identify traffic bottlenecks and gather proposals from citizens, visitors, associations, and organizations. Working closely with the city and experts from Vectris, we mapped the context, stakeholders, and key actors to guide the participation process. We engaged various groups, including associations, city council members, advisory boards, and other stakeholders, to help shape both the study’s direction and the participation strategy. A core element of this approach was listening to residents’ input before developing any proposals. To achieve this, we utilized our digital survey tool to collect a wealth of information. Building on these insights, we held in-depth discussions with schools, stakeholders, citizen panels, and focus groups to explore potential scenarios. The results were first presented to the public and later reviewed with the sounding board group. Following the city council’s validation of the plan, we also supported the communication efforts for the test phase.
