Réaménagement de la Petite Ceinture, Quartier Toison d'Or

CONTEXT & GOAL

The small belt (more known as "La Petite Ceinture" or "Kleine Ring") is an urban motorway that surrounds Brussels center by giving the city its iconic pentagon shape. It has been gradually divided into different sections where The Toison d'or/Gulden Vlies segment is one of the most prestigious and symbolic.

The project aims to change the current urban landscape and move towards the promotion of soft mobility and neighborhood transformation into a pleasant and well-connected public space. The mobility department of the city and the office of the Minister of Mobility are leading the project management. They chose the project headed by Bruno Fortier architecture office, Polo Architects, Arcardis, Citytools in which Createlli participates.

 

THE PARTICIPATORY PROJECT:

Development of a participation program (online survey, informative page, publication of an internal report) in the continuity of what had already been achieved with local residents in 2015.

The engineering office, the architects and the planners supervise the meetings, the communication and the relations with the stakeholders of the project (local residents, traders, municipal administrations, ...)

This process of participation in the objective of co-constructing the realization of the project with the different input gathered from the population and stakeholders, in addition to gaining trust of each of these parties.
