Less Traffic, More Quality of Life for Wilrijk! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🌳

On December 12, we informed residents and business owners around Boomsesteenweg (N177) and the A12 in Wilrijk about the upcoming changes to the traffic situation between the tunnels and the viaduct. With this study and redesign, Wegen en Verkeer and the city of Antwerp aim to direct through traffic more underground and improve connections between the surrounding residential areas.

This will reduce traffic pressure at the intersection towards Jan De Voslei and Jan van Rijswijcklaan, creating a safer and greener environment.

Two-way bike lanes and fully equipped sidewalks will be added on both sides of the Boomsesteenweg (N177). 🚲👣

The works are scheduled to start in 2028 at the earliest. More information can be found on AWV’s website.
