For four years, we collaborated with Maarch, ILVO, and Createlli on the DNA Master Plans for Zevekote, Bekegem, Abele, and Nieuwenhove.
On Wednesday, November 27, these villages took the spotlight during the study day “Carry the Village: Between Conservation and Change”, organized by the Province of West Flanders. The program offered a fascinating glimpse into the DNA approach for villages, featuring inspiring examples from Antwerp and Wallonia.
💡 Flemish Master Builder Eric Wiers delivered a compelling closing statement: involving residents is crucial for shaping the future of our villages. Designers play a key role in envisioning and realizing the possibilities.
🎤 From our team, Steven Geeraert (Maarch) highlighted opportunities to enhance village DNA through softening and greening. Meanwhile, Jan Vincke (Createlli) shared valuable lessons and sparked discussions on the importance of participation.
