Het stadsbestuur koos ervoor om het nieuwe plan en een gedragen oplossing te vinden voor de mobiliteit in de stad via een breed participatietraject met inwoners en andere stakeholders.
We werkten samen met het stadsbestuur een participatieplan uit en legden dit voor aan verenigingen en het middenveld als klankbord.
We lanceerden 2 bevragingen voor de inwoners en ontvingen input van 400 deelnemers over het thema spoorwegovergangen en van 1087 deelnemers over de algemene mobiliteit. Veiligheid op weg naar school bleek een erg belangrijk thema. We deden daarom extra inspanningen om jonge inwoners te betrekken. Maar liefst 1 op 5 deelnemers was jonger dan 18. We communiceerden de resultaten via een film en interactieve kaarten. Bij de uitwerking van de scenario's en maatregelen gingen we in co-creatie modus via burgerpanels en workshops met scholen. We werkten vervolgens de mobiliteitsvisie uit in een actieplan. Dit legden we voor aan adviesraden en hielden een workshop met de handelaars en de gemeenteraad.
