Kortrijk, Gemeente Kuurne","content":"Bijna overal is de Kortrijkse Ring (R8) ingericht als autosnelweg met twee rijstroken in elke rijrichting, op- en afritten en ventwegen. Het deel van de R8 tussen de spoorlijn Brugge-Kortrijk en de Leie ziet er nog niet zo uit: er zijn kruispunten met verkeerslichten en directe erftoegangen zoals parkings van grote winkels. Fietspaden zijn niet afgescheiden en er zijn niet overal voetpaden.<br>Medewerkers van de stad Kortrijk en de gemeente Kuurne gaven een voorzet voor de vragen, die wij verfijnden op basis van de doelstelling. We onderzochten hoe gebruikers en omwonenden dit deel van de R8 nu ervaren en welke verwachtingen men van de herinrichting heeft. <br>De online bevraging telde 941 respondenten. Een meerderheid van hen vond dat doorgaand verkeer best gebruik zou maken van een doorgetrokken R8 in de huidige, ongebruikte middenberm. De ventwegen zouden gescheiden ingericht moeten worden voor lokaal verkeer, wat de doorstroom van zowel lokaal als doorgaand verkeer zou moeten verbeteren.
